" Skip for a better experience! Although the food wasn't awful, the service was quite poor. A young staff member was too busy chatting with friends instead of serving customers. I felt neglected, and had to wait too long for my meal. When it finally came, the portions were not as generous as I expected. I've definitely had better shawarma elsewhere. It's upsetting, especially considering the good reviews. I hope they improve! " (*Curated Review*)
" I was totally impressed after my first visit! The atmosphere is very welcoming, and the staff are super polite. But the highlight was undoubtedly the food! The chicken shawarma is simply amazing, and their garlic sauce is a must-try. I also appreciated the portion sizes, which are quite generous. It’s a little on the pricier side compared to other fast-casual spots, but you definitely get what you pay for. I plan to return soon to try out other menu items! " (*Curated Review*)
" Went to Ali Baba's after hearing someone rave about their falafel. I can confirm the falafel did not disappoint; it was crispy and flavorful. My only issue was service. It seemed they were short-staffed as I had to wait longer than expected for my order. However, the staff remained friendly despite the chaos, which I appreciated. I’ll definitely check this place out again in the future for more tasty falafel! " (*Curated Review*)
" I visited Ali Baba's during a busy lunch hour, and it was clear they had a lot of customers, but I was impressed by how quickly they were able to turn around orders. I had the chicken shawarma and it was delicious! They packed it full of fresh veggies and tasty sauces. I loved that there were options for adding hot sauce too. I can say it’s one of the better shawarmas in Toronto and will definitely return! " (*Curated Review*)
" What a huge disappointment! When I first visited Ali Baba's years ago, the food quality was outstanding, but this time around, I was let down. My chicken shawarma wrap was mostly lettuce and very little chicken. It felt like I was just eating a salad. The staff seemed overwhelmed and uninterested in providing good service. The atmosphere was lackluster; it was too packed and cluttered. I had a hard time finding a place to sit. Overall, I don't think I will be returning anytime soon, especially since there are better Middle Eastern spots in downtown that offer fresher food and better service. " (*Curated Review*)
" After hearing such amazing reviews, I thought I'd try Ali Baba's. I got the beef shawarma platter and although it was tasty, I expected a bit more based on the hype. It was good but I'll say the service was a bit lacking during my visit. They took quite a while to take my order, and it felt a little disorganized. The atmosphere was casual but a touch crowded. Definitely worth trying if you’re in the area, but don’t set your expectations too high. " (*Curated Review*)
" Being a fan of Middle Eastern cuisine, I had to try Ali Baba's after seeing their glowing reviews. I opted for the beef shawarma platter, and it was fabulous! The beef was tender, and the spices were on point, reminding me of my travels through the Middle East. The portion size was generous, easily enough for two. I also enjoyed their crispy falafel, which was a nice complement to the meal. My only complaint was the service—it took a while to get my order, but the food was certainly worth the wait. I would suggest dining during off-peak hours for a better experience. All in all, a solid destination for authentic Middle Eastern food. " (*Curated Review*)
